A surprise was in store for anyone that peered inside one of the 448 special Kilner jars.
A miniature giraffe, a pink elephant or a familiar face were just some of the many images that could be found inside of one of Masson’s multi-coloured jars. Revellers could spot a miniature version of themselves inside as Masson brought a mix of projection with a good sprinkling of magic to the Durham night.
French artist Stéphane Masson has been hijacking every day objects for art projects since 2004. Devoted to injecting craziness into our everyday lives, his previous works include The Aquarium Car (La Voiture Aquarium), Kissing Lamps (Les Lampadiares a Bisous) and interactive video recording The Box of Words.
We are thrilled to sponsor our very own light installation again for 2015 at Prince Bishops. Lumiere is a signature event on Durham’s cultural calendar and has planted the City firmly on the world map – something which we’re very proud to support.
