Tony Heaton OBE, Founder of NDACA – the National Disability Arts Collection and Archive, Chief Executive of Shape Arts 2008-17, currently Chair of Shape, and sculptor

Tony Heaton has worked in the field of disability, diversity and social justice for his whole career, with experience gathered from working as a Field Officer for RADAR (now Disability Rights UK), Development Officer for  NACAB Citizens Advice, Director of Holton Lee and most recently as Chief Executive of Shape Arts, a disability-led arts organisation working with major cultural institutions and disabled people as artists and audiences.

Leading two diverse arts organisations over the past 20 years has given him a huge wealth of experience and success in leadership, entrepreneurship, managing change, business development and managing capital development, with the focus being in arts and cultural institutions.

Tony is a member of the Tate Modern Access Advisory Group and previously has been an inaugural board member for Inclusion London, a member of the Whitechapel Art Gallery Access Advisory Group, a member of the National Archives User Committee, a member of the Rethinking Disability in Collections Think Tank at Leicester University and a member of the Arts Council of England Diversity Task Group.
