Karima Grant, Founder and Director, ImagiNation Afrika
Karima has always believed in a world of African children changemakers solving the problems of development. As a writer for children and adults, Karima believes in language as a tool for creating powerful new possibilities. As a former educator with over twenty years’ experience teaching in and supporting dynamic classrooms and instruction in the US and Senegal, Karima believes in curiosity as an anchor for lifelong learning. As a leadership facilitator, Karima used principles, values and participative processes to design her transformative leadership programs. Currently, as founder and director of ImagiNation Afrika, West Afrika’s first children’s learning and innovation hub, Karima directs a team creating innovative educational programming integrating local culture, place and experimental learning to develop creative and critical thinking in children 6 months to 19 years. In 2016, Karima was elected an Ashoka ReImagine Learning Fellow.
