Get Involved

SINCE THE FIRST LUMIERE IN 2009, HUNDREDS OF BUSINESSES, TRUSTS & FOUNDATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS HAVE SUPPORTED THE FESTIVAL, HELPING TO CREATE SPECTACULAR INSTALLATIONS AND AN ENGAGING LEARNING & PARTICIPATION PROGRAMME.

The funding that Artichoke receives from Durham County Council and Arts Council England covers just over half of the total cost of putting on the festival and running Lumiere’s community projects. The rest is made up through the generosity of our partners, sponsors and donors from the North East and across the UK. Fundraising for the 2021 edition is well underway and we would be delighted to speak with you about the partnership opportunities available. To find out more about how to get involved with Lumiere Durham 2021, please contact Artichoke’s Development Director, Sarah Coop: [email protected]

Local and regional businesses have always been incredibly supportive of Lumiere, helping us to make the festival truly special. This year we are delighted to be offering a £50,000 match-funding scheme with County Durham Community Foundation for businesses, organisations and charitable trusts. For every pound donated, the Foundation will contribute a further 50p, unlocking £100,000 in additional sponsorship that can support Lumiere Learning and Participation projects for people across the County.”
