New commission Participatory Projection

Asalto London

Daniel Canogar (Spain)

A large-scale projection that helped us imagine overcoming the obstacles in our lives.

Asalto London reimagined one of London’s iconic structures, Westminster City Hall, using part public intervention and part video installation to show local residents appearing to slowly “climb” up the walls, eventually reaching the top.

Canogar specialises in photography and video, creating new media installations, photo-murals and site-specific public art projects. His interests lie in themes related to electronic waste, visual excess and the archaeology of new media.

With additional support from the Embassy of Spain in the United Kingdom.

Daniel Canogar also created Asalto Durham for Lumiere Durham 2015 and was a speaker at the Lumiere Durham 2015 conference ‘Light, Art, the Universe and Everything’. Watch his talk here.
