LUMIERE DURHAM 2011
A mesmerising projection of plants and flowers.
Award-winning photographer and film-maker Boo Beaumont premiered an exquisite projection of plants and flowers during Lumiere Durham 2011. Created by using X-ray and CT technology, delicate images melted into one another as they were projected onto North Road Methodist Church.
The specially-composed soundtrack chimed with the images and added a further dimension for the viewer as they watched the flowers evolve. This thought-provoking and beautiful piece asked the viewer to question how things appear and what lies hidden beneath.
Boo is an established photographer with 12 of her portraits in the National Portrait Gallery in London. A Kobal Portrait Award finalist in 1997, she has had 14 solo exhibitions in the last five years and has given numerous lectures about her work to both Festival and College audiences.
