Motion Field was a lighting installation designed by Newcastle-based collective Filament. Audiences were invited to walk between two metre high tubes of light, arranged like rows of tall plants in a field, triggering changes in colours and patterns.
Filament created work with light and moving imagery, using innovative technology in new and exciting ways. The company was made up of Steve Holmes, an AV artist working on large scale events; Neil Coleback, a lighting designer with experience of music, circus and theatre; and Dan Adams, who works as a technical designer for cultural events and art installations. Each shared a desire to create fun and exciting visual environments.
