On Blank Pages is an important and epic illuminated wall of free expression. We’re inviting individuals, groups and organisations across the UK, who have lived experience, connections and opinions of the justice system to share their thoughts on this topic.
The installation is created by Luzinterruptus, an anonymous artistic group known for drawing attention to social, environmental and political issues. The artwork will be composed of thousands of notebooks that form a huge collection of public opinions on the state of the British Justice system.
Ahead of Lumiere Durham 2023, we have been working with those connected to the justice system. The individuals involved responded to four key questions, resulting in pre-filled pages that will form part of the artwork. Many more pages will be left blank for Lumiere visitors to contribute with their own responses. The overall effect will be a giant illuminated library and a snapshot of how people view justice today. The final installation will be on display at Durham’s Millennium Place from 16 – 19 November 2023.
If you’d like to have your say, you can complete the online survey or Word Document below by the 29 October 2023.
The survey asks everyone the same four questions about the justice system, helping give an in-depth overview of the nation’s views on the topic.
