An animated self-portrait exploring the idea of rebirth.
Emma Allen painted this stop frame animation on herself over 5 days using face paints, a mirror and a camera. The artwork considers the notion of transferring energy from one incarnation to another.
Emma Allen is a multi disciplined artist and designer specialising in body painting and animation. Her short films and artwork have shown at festivals and galleries worldwide including London, New York and Paris. She has produced Commercial body painting for fashion, film and events including commissions for MTV, Saatchi Gallery, Google, TRAID and campaigns for Cancer Research, Live Life and International Woman’s Day. She also founded and runs an arts charity in Sri Lanka for disadvantaged children
Emma Allen also created Ruby, Santiago & Adam: Grey Matters for Lumiere London 2018 in collaboration with the Neuroscientist, Daisy Thompson-Lake.
