With original songs and music, this installation promises to be a festival favorite, so get your dancing shoes on.

KEYFRAMES by Groupe LAPS was part of Lumiere Durham 2013 and Lumiere London 2016.

Access

Market Place: The surfaces within the Market Place are mainly level, paved and free from kerbs. There is a slight incline from St Nicholas Church towards the statue. There is a level change of 3 steps around the statue at the exit from the Market Place onto Silver Street, but there are alternative routes using the gentle slope either side.  There is a mixture of fixed stone and wood seating which are low level, some with armrests.

Silver Street: Surfaces are a mix of cobbles and flagstones. The street is a very steep incline from Framwellgate Bridge into the Market Place with no seats along the route.

Groupe LAPS

Based in France, Groupe LAPS is a collective of artists who are interested in using light in urban environments to tell stories. Comprising video makers, artists, musicians and lighting experts, the group create technical pieces that enchant audiences. Based on principles of chronophotography and kinetics, Groupe LAPS use programmed lighting sequences with sound to animate their luminous characters. Swinging between reality and fiction, the fleeting installations create long-lasting memories.
